Thank you for your interest in the VLib game programming SDK.

NOTE:
You should have uncompressed this archive with the -d option to restore the
directory tree of the archive!

Please run the INSTALL.BAT batch file to copy the library and header file to
your Watcom directory BEFORE trying to compile anything with the library.

This package is for people who wish to write graphic intensive applications
using the Watcom C compiler (10.0+). The library concentrates on functions
particualarily applicable to sprite/tile driven games and professional
interfaces. This library is also an ongoing project. We make every attempt
to provide users with the functionality required to get the job done as
easily as possible. Complicated tasks like sprite animation and movement,
transparency, lighting and shadow effects and paralax scrolling of rectangular
bobs are all made easy so you spend more time in developing game play and
story (the way it should be). The library is also easily maintained and
expanded so new functionality is often very easy to implement. Our
relationship with our clients only begins with your purchase!

This is the initial release of the library to the public. The library is
being used in our own commercial endevour (which has only just begun) and has
been used in the development of the commercial stragety game Steel Diplomacy,
by Oniera Software Artists.

If you have any problems with the library, please contact us as indicated
below with the nature of the problem and a step by step process of how to
recreate the problem.

If you have any feedback (whether or not you intend to register) we'd love to
hear from you.

We realise that the example programs are lacking in number. We didn't want to
include the requisite managerie of line and box drawing programs, however. If
you have anything you'd like a demo of, please let us know. In fact, if you
have a really good, general demo idea (which incorporates several aspects of
the library), you'll receive $10 off the purchase price (please contact us
with your concept before submitting payment for the library, just in case your
brilliant idea has been submitted). This offer is valid until the end of
June, 1997.

The documentation for the evaluation version is only available in Microsoft
Word format, at the moment. It's heavy use of formatting will make the file
only somewhat readable in Windows 95 Wordpad. We appologise for any
inconvenience this may cause.
